2019 End of Spring and Summer kick off!

Posted by http://moniqueballetsf.blogspot.com/ at 7:07 PM 0 comments

In May 2019 Foster City Ballerina team of 3year-olds had a great casual performance in the Foster City studio. For the last 10 weeks we successfully built up our energy and dance skills. Many of them were super challenging to show to others mainly mentality. However they did great job!!
With great happiness they succeeded in this performance!
I know all of them are getting ready for the next real performance.

This performance also was Momoka and Serina's farewell. Momoka has been dancing with us for many years, and so, Serina has been dancing with us even before her birth - while growing in Momoka's belly, and right after birth - in Momoka's arms! And now all by herself!
Thank you Serina and Momoka dance with us.
I hope that this wonderful experience will grow her to be a great dancer with Monique's spirit.

We had a sunny and happy picnic farewell pizza party with everyone exchanging tons of memories at the Foster City waterfront picnic area!

Review for 2018 and Resolution for 2019

Posted by http://moniqueballetsf.blogspot.com/ at 1:17 AM 0 comments
Welcome to 2019!
Megumi Yamamoto: Music director for KOKORO volunteer. She retired this project on 11/11  2018.
Deeply appreciate  for 7years with us

Always at the beginning of a new year I think about all I have done with my dance group.
And last year, 2018, really was a stable and happy year for MBSF!
We had a great performance at the Kokoro senior home on 11/11 for an early start of the holiday season.  I didn't realize for how many years we have been doing this service. Each year I was so seriously focused about the performers and how to make the seniors happy. It turned out I did set this performance now already for 7 years! I really Really Appreciate the effort of everyone involved to be able to have this service each year!
It was a happy surprise, when I saw the article in Kokoro's December news issue covering our performance, explaining the efforts we take to make this service possible, and how this service brightens up the residents' hearts. I felt touched how they noticed my efforts.
An effort that would be nothing without the commitment and effort of all my dancers.
also I have to tell you that Megumi Yamamoto for our KOKORO volunteer music directer was retiring. Thank you Megumi for 7 years our adventure... We will miss you and we will have a new adventure.
Thank you to all!
All this bright energy made our 13th Annual Studio performance successful!
Thank you!
We will continue this tradition 2019 and beyond!
Happy new year!

New Fall/ Witer 2018 Classes from 9/12

Posted by http://moniqueballetsf.blogspot.com/ at 2:24 PM 1 comments
Dance  is soothing my body and mind. It feels like a long hike in the mountains or observing and listening to the ocean waves for a long time by myself. I feel I am not alone and I am one with the universe.
All elements of nature and human movement come together in balance and great harmony.
I have been enjoying my journey in dance.
Very simple ballet practice guides me very naturally where my mind and body should go. Now my path of life with ballet  has been sustained for over 35 years sinceI've started when I was very little one, where each year has many new experiences and gives me strengthening and awareness of my life. Dance is my life partner.

Fall Winter 2018 class starts Wed 9/12/2018.

Let's dance and come join us!

Our lovely group member Momoka, has safety delivered her second baby Shinichi.

Momoka was so happy she could deliver her second baby so easily.
She just discovered her pragnent
Baby-boy inside her belly, dance with a little one

She discovered that she was pregnant last Fall. It was during our performance rehearsal.  However, since it was the early stage of the pregnancy, she decided to do the full performance and to continue practicing ballet weekly.
just came back long holiday vacation
After a three month break (without practice or workout at all) back in Japan around Christmas and New Year, She has been really feel backache due to  growing baby in her belly. she returned back to practice with us under careful instruction.
After class, her backache was gone and she felt good and really happy. So she continued to take classes all the way until her due day. She practiced until the week before she delivered Shinichi.
I visited her at the hospital 2 days after her delivery, she was looking good - her usual Momoka. I was really surprised her quick recovery. it looked amazed! Happy birth with Monique Ballet. Looking forward to seeing Momoka,After this Summer vacation!
